Software for gyms and studios, aimed at retention.

Augustova builds custom software and automation for UK gyms, studios and wellness businesses, covering member retention, class booking, lapsed member recovery and trainer scheduling. Retention is worth more than acquisition in this sector, and it is far more automatable.

01

Cancellation is a lagging indicator

By the time a member cancels, they stopped attending weeks earlier. The decision was made quietly and the cancellation is just the paperwork.

The attendance data that predicts it almost always exists. What is missing is anything that watches it and prompts an intervention while the member can still be recovered.

02

What we build for operators

01Attendance decline detection with a prompt to intervene before cancellation
02Lapsed member reactivation sequences that are useful rather than pushy
03Class booking, waiting lists and automatic release of cancelled spaces
04Trainer and class scheduling against real demand
05Onboarding sequences for new members, where early habit decides retention
06Reporting on retention cohorts rather than only headline membership

03

The first six weeks decide the year

Members who establish a routine in the first six weeks stay far longer than those who do not. An automated onboarding sequence over that window is one of the highest return things a fitness business can build, and almost nobody does it well.

Common questions

Do you replace our membership system?

No. Membership and payments are well served. We build the retention and communication layer on top, which is where the commercial gain sits.

Is automated outreach to lapsing members intrusive?

Not when it is helpful and timed to the drop in attendance rather than to a billing date. A message that offers something useful outperforms one that asks why they have not been in.

What should we measure?

Retention by joining cohort, and attendance in the first six weeks. Both predict revenue far better than total membership, and most operators track neither.

Talk about retention

Tell us what happens today when a member stops attending. If the answer is nothing until they cancel, that is the build.
