Fixed prices, agreed in writing before anything is built
What does an AI agency do, and how is it different from an AI consultancy?
An AI agency builds and runs AI systems for other businesses: agents that read, decide and act inside the tools a business already uses, automations that take repetitive work off people, and products with AI inside them. An AI consultancy decides what is worth building, and whether to build anything at all, before money is committed.
In London the two labels are used loosely, and many firms only do one half. Augustova does both, in order: a fixed-price audit when the right first step is not obvious, then the build, by the same people, at the price the audit quoted. When the job is already clear, we skip the audit and quote the build.
Two narrower labels are worth separating out. An AI automation agency builds agents and workflows around processes a business already runs; that is the largest part of our work and it has its own page. An AI marketing agency uses AI to produce campaigns and content, which is a different trade. We do not run advertising or write content; we build the systems that run inside the business.
| AI consultancy | AI agency | Freelancer | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you buy | Advice: an audit and a roadmap | A working system, in production | One person’s time |
| Usually priced by | Fixed audit or day rate | Fixed project, sometimes a retainer | Day or hourly rate |
| Ends with | A document | Software you run, plus a handover | Depends on the person |
| Best when | You do not yet know what to build | You know the job that needs doing | The task is small and well defined |
| Augustova | Yes: audit from £495 | Yes: builds from £595 | No: we quote the outcome, not hours |
Who is Augustova best for?
We work with owner-managed and mid-sized businesses in London and across the UK, and with founders building their first product. The common thread is a job that people do by hand, again and again, where the input arrives in a predictable shape even if it is messy.
When should you hire someone else?
We are the wrong agency for a large enterprise programme that needs a bench of data scientists, for training a model from scratch on proprietary data, or for running paid advertising and content. Larger firms and specialist marketing agencies do those jobs, and a comparison of London firms by type is linked below.
We are also the wrong answer when a subscription already does the job. If you only need calls answered and messages taken, self-serve AI receptionist plans start at about £39 a month on published pricing, and building one would waste your money. If you have fewer than ten staff and no repetitive work that costs real hours, give the team a paid ChatGPT or Claude account and three rules about what may not go into it. We will tell you either of those on the first call.
Starter packages for small businesses, from £495
The quickest way to work with us is a Starter package: one problem, one fixed price, live in five to ten working days, running in accounts in your name. Each one has a written scope with acceptance tests. If it is not live within the stated working days of you giving us access (and any third-party approval, such as a phone number check or Meta verification), you do not pay the second half; if it cannot pass the agreed acceptance tests, you get a full refund. We never guarantee hours saved, revenue or conversions.
Two packages are credited forward. The £495 AI Quick Audit is credited in full against a Starter build of £695 or more, or any main service, booked within 90 days of the report. The £995 Find and Fix is credited against a first automation build signed within 60 days of go-live. Care plans are optional; if you stop one, the system keeps running and you pay the vendors directly. Prices exclude VAT.
| Package | Price | Live in | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Quick Audit | £495, one-off | Report within 5 working days | Not sure where to start |
| Single Automation | £595, then £39 a month optional | 5 working days | You know the task |
| AI Missed-Call Receptionist | £695, then £79 a month optional | 7 working days after number checks | Missed calls cost you jobs |
| Website AI Assistant | £795, then £79 a month optional | 7 working days | The same questions, again and again |
| WhatsApp AI Assistant | £795, then £79 a month optional | 10 working days after Meta verification | Customers already message you on WhatsApp |
| AI Team Workshop | £895, then £149 a month optional | Booked within 10 working days | A team using AI without rules |
| Find and Fix | £995, then £149 a month optional | 5 working days | Admin eats your week, but you are not sure what to automate |
How much does an AI agency in London cost?
Above the Starter range, every build is quoted as a fixed price against a written scope, with an explicit list of what is not included. The ranges are wide because scope is wide. What moves a quote within its band is how many systems the work has to talk to, how messy the inputs are, how many types of user there are, and whether it has to run unattended without failing quietly.
Published UK prices for the same kind of work run from roughly £800 to £5,000 for a first workflow and £20,000 to £50,000 and up for multi-system programmes, and several larger London firms will not take a project under £25,000. Our prices sit inside those bands, and we start where most small and mid-sized businesses start: one problem worth £4,000 to £15,000 to solve.
| Service | Fixed price | Timeline | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI adoption audit | £2,500 to £6,000 | One to two weeks end to end | Interviews, a data audit, opportunities ranked by return, an ROI and running-cost model, and a written roadmap. Credited in full against the build. |
| AI agent or workflow, in production | £4,000 to £15,000 | One to three weeks | One agent or automation, integrated with the tools you already run, tested on real inputs, with a person in the loop where it matters. |
| Custom AI system | £8,000 to £25,000 | Two to four weeks to a working system | Several agents sharing data and hand-offs, built, deployed and instrumented, with cost ceilings tested before you rely on them. |
| Startup MVP | £10,000 to £20,000 | Four to six weeks to launch | One core workflow, sign-up, payments and an admin view, with AI features and usage metering built in where the product needs them. |
| Bespoke software or app | £8,000 to £30,000 | Two to six weeks depending on surface area | Internal tools, portals and platforms with web and mobile apps, quoted per phase so the budget cannot drift. |
| AI training for your team | £1,200 to £6,000 | Delivered within three weeks of booking | Hands-on sessions on ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot, with a written policy on what may go into them. |
All prices exclude VAT. Market figures are published UK ranges gathered in September 2026, from the surveys linked below.
What has Augustova built?
Onrolo is our own applicant tracking system, used by UK recruitment agencies. It captures applications from job boards and email, screens every CV against the role and explains the score in writing, contacts applicants by SMS and email within minutes of applying, and books interviews straight into the interviewer’s calendar. The published outcomes: more than 90 hours of manual CV screening removed per office each month, and 8 in 10 applicants reaching a booked appointment rather than being lost.
GoRizzume is our careers platform for UK students and graduates. It scores a CV against a specific job advert and rewrites the weak sections, runs spoken interview practice with structured feedback, and turns the public register of licensed visa sponsors, more than 120,000 organisations refreshed daily, into something searchable. It runs on the web, iOS, Android and a browser extension, and is licensed to institutions by seat.
For The UK Driving School in London we built a management platform with AI inside it: a school portal for calls, diary, instructors, pupils and payments, a mobile app for instructors, and an AI voice assistant that answers in the school’s name, quotes the real prices, checks the caller’s area and books into the real diary. Reschedules, complaints and refunds always go to a person, and the assistant must pass 174 scripted test calls before any change goes live. It is live in pilot.
Running our own products means we pay the same per-message and per-model costs our clients will, which is why every quote we write states the running cost at your volume.
| Build | What it is | Published result | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Onrolo | Applicant tracking with AI CV screening and candidate messaging | 90+ hours of manual CV screening removed per office, every month | In daily use, web, iOS and Android |
| GoRizzume | Careers platform for UK students and graduates | 120,000+ licensed sponsors tracked and refreshed every day | Live for individuals, licensed to institutions |
| Driving school platform | Client build: school portal, instructor app, AI voice assistant | 174 scripted test calls passed before any change goes live | Live in pilot |
How does working with us work?
It starts with a free 30-minute call with a founder, which ends in one of three answers: an audit, a fixed quote, or an honest reason not to build anything yet. If the right first step is unclear, the audit settles it: the £495 Quick Audit for a small business, or a full AI adoption audit at £2,500 to £6,000 over one to two weeks, credited in full against the build that follows.
The build is fixed price, agreed in writing before anything is built. You see working software on your own real inputs within the first week and a demo every week after, because the messy tenth example teaches more than the ten clean ones. Integration with your systems starts first, since it is usually the longest job. Anywhere money, a person’s rights or regulated data are involved, the agent proposes and a person approves. Cost ceilings are triggered once on purpose before go-live, so you know they fire.
At handover you hold everything: the code, the repositories, the provider accounts and the credentials, all in your name from day one, with documentation, a runbook and a recorded walkthrough so another developer could pick it up without us. Support, if you want it, is a separate monthly line priced in the same document as the build. You can stop paying it and keep the system.
What does AI cost to run after it is built?
The build price is only half the budget. Every agent has a cost per task, and the model is usually the smallest line: messages, call minutes and platform fees are the ones that grow with volume. A first agent or automation typically costs £50 to £250 a month to run. We state the figure at your volume before go-live and cap it in production.
On the Starter packages the monthly side is fixed and optional: £39 a month for Care Essentials on a single automation, £79 a month on the receptionist (300 AI minutes included, then 20p a minute) and on the website and WhatsApp assistants, and £149 a month for Care Plus on Find and Fix. Everything runs in your accounts, so you see the vendor bills yourself.
How do you choose an AI agency in London?
Ask every agency the same questions, us included. The answers separate firms that run AI in production from firms that demonstrate it.
How do we handle data protection, consent and disclosure?
Augustova is registered with the ICO (ZC152144) and a data processing agreement is signed before any personal data moves. Each build states which data is processed, by which provider, in which region and on what lawful basis. Where data can stay inside the tools you already use, the design keeps it there.
Agents that talk to customers say they are AI, honour opt-outs on every channel, and never contact anyone on your do-not-contact list. WhatsApp assistants only answer about your own business, as Meta’s terms require, and always offer a route to a person.

Common questions
Which is the best AI agency in London?
It depends on what you need built and how big you are. For large regulated programmes, firms such as Faculty suit best; for a Claude rollout, The AI Consultancy; for founders building a product, MVP studios such as Magora or Foundry 5. Augustova suits UK small and mid-sized businesses that want an audit and the build from one team at a fixed price, from £495. Our comparison of twelve London firms, with their published prices, is at augustova.co.uk/ai-consultancies-london.
How much does an AI agency cost in London?
At Augustova, Starter packages for small businesses cost £495 to £995, fixed. An AI audit is £2,500 to £6,000, a first production agent or workflow £4,000 to £15,000, a custom AI system £8,000 to £25,000 and a startup MVP £10,000 to £20,000, all fixed and excluding VAT. Published UK ranges run from about £800 for a first workflow to £50,000 and up for multi-system programmes.
What does an AI agency do?
It builds and runs AI systems for other businesses: agents that read, decide and act inside your existing tools, automations that take repetitive work off people, and products with AI inside them. Most of the work is integration with your systems and deciding where a person stays in the loop, not the AI itself.
What is the difference between an AI agency, an AI consultancy and a freelancer?
A consultancy decides what to build and whether to; an agency builds it and runs it; a freelancer sells one person’s time, usually by the day or hour. Augustova is a consultancy and an agency: a fixed-price audit when the answer is unclear, then a fixed-price build by the same people.
How long does it take to build an AI agent?
A Starter package goes live in five to ten working days. A first production agent or workflow takes one to three weeks, a custom AI system two to four weeks, and a startup MVP four to six weeks to launch. Integration with your existing systems is usually the longest part.
Who owns the code and the AI agent you build?
You do, from day one. The code, repositories, provider accounts, credentials and prompts are in your name, with documentation, a runbook and a recorded walkthrough at handover. Ongoing support is optional and priced separately; if you stop it, you keep everything.
What does an AI agent cost to run each month?
Typically £50 to £250 a month for a first agent, depending on volume. The model is usually the smallest cost; messages, call minutes and platform fees grow fastest. We state the running cost at your volume before go-live and cap it. Starter care plans are fixed at £39 to £149 a month and optional.
Do you work with businesses outside London?
Yes. We meet in person across Greater London from our office in Fitzrovia and work remotely with businesses across the UK, on the same fixed-price terms.
Do we need an audit before you build anything?
Only if the right first step is unclear. If you already know the job, such as missed calls, a website assistant or one admin task, we scope and quote the build directly. If you do not, the £495 Quick Audit or the full £2,500 to £6,000 audit ranks the options, and the fee is credited against what follows.
Is it safe to let an AI agent deal with our customers?
It can be, if the rules are set before it goes live. Ours say they are AI, hand reschedules, complaints, refunds and anything uncertain to a person, honour opt-outs, and log every conversation. Anywhere money, a person’s rights or regulated data are involved, the agent proposes and a person approves.
Are you an AI marketing agency?
No. We do not run advertising, social media or content. We build the operational systems inside a business: agents, automations, assistants, custom AI and software. If you need AI-assisted marketing, a specialist marketing agency is the better hire.
