AI training

AI training for businesses in London and the UK: sixteen providers compared, with prices, and the free routes.

AI training for UK businesses costs £1,200 for a private half-day session at the median of nine providers that publish (from £450 to £3,500 a session), £2,000 for a full day, and £275 to £1,565 a head for public courses. In-house sessions are priced for the room, so they beat public courses from about six people. Free courses from government, Microsoft, Anthropic and OpenAI suit self-study.

Who wrote this, and how

Augustova runs AI training for business teams, and it is one of the sixteen providers on this page. We wrote it because training prices are hard to compare: some are per session, some per head, some for twelve people and some for five, and a £3,500 session can be cheaper per person than a £750 course.

We included only providers that publish a price on their own site, and read every figure there on 19 October 2026. The table says whether each price is per session or per head, and the group size where the provider states one. We have no commercial relationship with any of the others.

The providers, side by side

Prices are each provider’s own, excluding VAT where stated. "Best for" is our summary of what each says about itself, not a ranking.

What the published prices show

Per session against per head is the whole story. For a team of twelve, Coaley Peak’s half day works out at about £38 a head, Design for Online about £71, Augustova £100 and Point Academy about £208, while public courses run from £275 a head at Acuity to £1,565 at QA. Once six or more people need the same thing, in-house is cheaper per head and uses your own work.

The price follows the room, not the content. The dearest private sessions are the smallest: Practical AI’s £3,500 half day is for about five senior people, while Elansio’s £980 workshop takes up to twenty. Ask for the group size before you compare.

Tool-specific training is mostly Microsoft. Copilot has the widest choice of public courses (QA, Global Knowledge, Wise Owl, Acuity) and in-house options (FiveForward, Ignite, Elansio). ChatGPT has one public course with an exam (Global Knowledge) and several in-house providers. Claude training is in-house only, from Ignite, Practical AI, CodeLeap, Elansio, Design for Online and Augustova.

What attendees keep varies more than price. Point Academy promises templates, prompts and a 90-day plan; Coaley Peak a year of tutorial access and certificates; Insightful AI documented completion for ICO purposes; Practical AI a toolkit to keep. Several say nothing. Ask what is left behind.

Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude training: who offers which

Train on the tool your firm already pays for. If you are still deciding which to buy, settle that first; our comparison of the three covers price, data terms and fit.

01Microsoft 365 Copilot training for business: in-house from FiveForward (£950 to £1,150 a group), Ignite (Copilot Day from £2,500), Elansio and Augustova; public courses from Acuity (£275 to £395), QA (from £805), Global Knowledge (£950) and Wise Owl (two days, £875 to £1,425). Microsoft Copilot Chat comes at no extra cost with eligible Microsoft 365 plans; the paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence reads your mail, files and meetings, so training should include the permission checks to run first.
02ChatGPT training for teams on ChatGPT Business or Enterprise: in-house from Hartz AI, Practical AI, CodeLeap, AI Awareness and Augustova; a public one-day course with an exam from Global Knowledge (£795).
03Claude training for business on Claude Team or Enterprise: in-house from Ignite (Team Day £2,500 plus a Claude set-up), Practical AI, CodeLeap, Elansio, Design for Online and Augustova. We found no public Claude course with a published UK price.

The free routes, and when they are enough

There is good free material, and for an individual who wants to learn on their own it may be all they need. For a team, the free courses do not use your work, your data rules or your templates, and they rarely get finished without a reason to.

01AI Skills Boost, from DSIT and Skills England, on the AI Skills Hub: free courses from industry partners, taking 20 minutes to a day. The government says it is open to every adult in the UK, that completers receive a virtual AI foundations badge, and that the aim is 10 million workers trained by 2030.
02Microsoft Learn: free learning paths for Microsoft 365 Copilot, including Draft, analyze and present with Microsoft 365 Copilot, a seven-module path for business users, with achievements recorded on a Microsoft account.
03Claude Academy: Anthropic’s free courses and tutorials, including AI Fluency and Claude 101, with completion certificates on its course platform.
04OpenAI Academy: courses such as Apply AI at Work and Lead AI Adoption, with livestreams. Joining needs a sign-in, and the public pages did not state a price or a certificate when we read them.
05Apprenticeships: for levy-paying employers, AI apprenticeships such as Multiverse’s are funded from the levy; non-levy employers pay a 5 per cent co-investment. These are programmes of a year or more, not a workshop.

When paid in-house training is worth it

Pay for in-house training when six or more people need the same skill, when the firm has bought seats that are not being used, when staff are pasting work into personal accounts, or when a client or regulator wants evidence of training. In each case the value is in the parts a free course cannot do: exercises on your own documents, the data rules for your firm, shared prompts and workspaces built on the day, and a written policy adopted at the end.

Do not pay for it when one or two people want to learn on their own, or when the firm has not yet chosen a tool. Start with the free routes, choose the tool, then train the team on it.

Which kind of provider suits which buyer

01A team of six or more that wants training on its own work in the tool it already pays for, ending with a written AI policy: Augustova; for a leadership-only group of up to five, Practical AI.
02Lowest cost for a whole team in one room: Coaley Peak (£450 a half day), Design for Online (£850 for up to 12), Insightful AI (£895 for up to 15) or Elansio (£980 for up to 20).
03A Microsoft 365 firm rolling out Copilot: FiveForward or Ignite in-house, or Acuity, QA or Global Knowledge for one or two people.
04A Claude rollout with the workspace set up: Ignite’s Team Day with its set-up, or an in-house session from Practical AI, CodeLeap or Augustova.
05Leadership and founders: Practical AI (up to five), Ignite’s Leadership Day (up to eight), QA’s leaders’ day for an individual.
06A multi-week programme across teams: Hartz AI (four to twelve weeks), CodeLeap (from £3,000), Point Academy (three days), Augustova (up to £6,000).
07One person who needs a certificate: Global Knowledge’s ChatGPT course with exam, QA, Wise Owl or Acuity.

How to choose

Five questions separate these providers faster than any ranking.

01Per session or per head, and for how many? Convert every quote to a cost per person for your team.
02Which tool? Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude training are different sessions; make sure the provider trains on the one you pay for.
03Whose examples? A session on your own documents, with your data rules, lands better than one on a sample dataset.
04What do people keep? A prompt library, shared workspaces, a written policy and a follow-up are worth more than a certificate.
05One audience or all? Leadership, everyday users and developers need different sessions.

What a good session contains

01A short skills assessment before the day, and exercises built from it.
02The data rules for your firm: what may go into the tool, and what must never.
03Two or three of the team’s real tasks, done live with the tool.
04Time on checking output: where the tool is confidently wrong.
05Shared prompts, Projects, custom GPTs or Copilot prompts saved for the team.
06A written AI use policy and a note of what still needs support, plus a follow-up.

Red flags

01A recorded course sold as a live workshop.
02A price with no group size, or no statement of whether it is per head.
03Generic examples, and no conversation about your own data.
04Training on a tool your firm does not use.
05A certificate offered as the outcome, with nothing the team keeps.
06No VAT position on the price.

Questions to ask any provider, including us

01Is the price per session or per head, and for how many people?
02Will the exercises use our own documents and tools?
03Which of Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude do you train on, and on which plan?
04What will the team keep afterwards?
05Is there a follow-up, and what does it cost?
06Does the price include VAT and travel?

If you are considering Augustova

Augustova’s sessions run on the team’s own work, inside the Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Business or Claude Team workspace the firm already pays for, and staff keep the prompt library, the shared workspace built on the day and a written AI use policy. Our tailored half day (£1,200) and full day (£2,000) sit exactly at the medians of the providers on this page that publish, and our standard AI Team Workshop, £895 for up to 12, is below the half-day median; several providers are cheaper per session. We are one of the sixteen, so this entry is kept apart from the comparison and uses the same terms. We train teams in London and across the UK from 60 Tottenham Court Road. Prices are fixed and exclude VAT.

Method and sources

Providers were found through the Google results for "AI training London", "AI training courses UK", "AI training for business", "Copilot training for business", "ChatGPT training for teams" and "Claude training for business", and through providers already cited in our training cost guide. A provider qualified only if its own site published a price. Every figure was read on 19 October 2026.

Left out, and why: We Call Shotgun (based in Paris), General Assembly, Learning Tree, Corndel and Innovation Visual (no published AI training price found), STL Training (its site blocked us), and providers seen only on marketplaces. AI Awareness shows £999 in one place and £995 in another for its five-person online session; we use the figure in its price table. Multiverse is listed under the free routes because its fees are levy-funded.

Augustova is on this page. To limit the bias we used the same columns and sources for every provider, put our own entry in a separate section, ranked nobody, and named providers that are cheaper than us. Corrections are welcome by email.

Common questions

How much does AI training for a business cost in the UK?

A private half-day session costs from £450 to £3,500, with a median of £1,200 across nine providers that publish; a full day from £787.50 to £6,500, median £2,000. Public courses cost £275 to £1,565 a head. Private sessions are priced for the room, so divide by your group size to compare.

Where can I get AI training in London?

Point Academy, Practical AI, Hartz AI, Ignite, CodeLeap, QA, Acuity and Augustova state a London base, and Coaley Peak, Elansio, Insightful AI and AI Awareness deliver on site in London from elsewhere. Wise Owl publishes a London price for its public Copilot course, though no London dates were scheduled when we read it.

What is the best Copilot training for business?

For a whole team, in-house training inside your own Microsoft 365 tenancy: FiveForward, Ignite, Elansio or Augustova. For one or two people, a public course from Acuity, QA, Global Knowledge or Wise Owl. Microsoft Learn’s free Copilot paths suit self-study.

Is there ChatGPT training for teams or Claude training for business in the UK?

Yes. ChatGPT training for teams is offered in-house by Hartz AI, Practical AI, CodeLeap, AI Awareness and Augustova, and as a one-day public course with an exam by Global Knowledge. Claude training for business is offered in-house by Ignite, Practical AI, CodeLeap, Elansio, Design for Online and Augustova.

Is there free AI training for UK businesses?

Yes: AI Skills Boost from DSIT and Skills England on the AI Skills Hub, Microsoft Learn for Copilot, Claude Academy from Anthropic and OpenAI Academy. They suit self-study; paid in-house training is worth it when six or more people need the same skill on your own work.

Are AI training courses per person or per session?

Both, which is why prices are hard to compare. In-house sessions are usually per session for a stated group size; public courses are per person. For a team of twelve the cheapest published half day is about £38 a head, while public courses start at £275 a head.

Why is Augustova on its own comparison?

Because we sell AI training too. We are described in the same terms as everyone else, in a separate section, and we name providers that are cheaper than us.
