AI consultancies in the UK, compared by region: sixteen firms from Glasgow to Bristol, what they charge, and who each one suits.
There is no single best AI consultancy in the UK; the right one depends on the job, your size and whether you want someone in the room. Of sixteen UK firms we compared across seven regions, seven publish prices: audits from £2,000 (AGMM, Manchester) to £6,000, first projects from £2,000 (AIAS, Swindon) and £4,950 (SyncBridge AI, Birmingham) up to £25,000 and more (Flowing Mind, Newcastle), and day rates from £800. Across every UK firm in our price index, the median readiness audit is £2,000.

Who wrote this, and how
Augustova is an AI consultancy based in London, and it is one of the sixteen firms on this page. We wrote it because most AI consultancy comparisons, ours included until now, are written from London, and a business in Leeds, Cardiff or Aberdeen deserves a list that starts where it is. Most lists that answer the question are written by a firm that puts itself first. This one ranks nobody.
We found the firms the way a buyer would: Google’s organic and map results for "AI consultancy" in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff and Newcastle, and nationally. Every fact about a firm comes from its own website or from Companies House, read on 22 October 2026 and linked in the method section. We left out directories, lead-generation sites, overseas firms with UK city pages and London firms presenting a local landing page as an office. We have no commercial relationship with any of the others.
The sixteen, side by side
Prices are each firm’s own, as published. Only Augustova and Insightful AI state that their prices exclude VAT; for the rest, ask. "Not published" means we could not find a price on the firm’s own pages, not that it is expensive. "Best for" is our one-line summary of what each firm says about itself; it is not a ranking, and neither is the order, which runs roughly north to south.
| Firm | Region and base, as stated | Best for | Advises, builds or both | Published prices | Incorporated |

Read on 22 October 2026 from each firm’s own pages and its Companies House record, linked in the method section. "Incorporated" is the year on Companies House for the company we matched to the site. Firms change their prices; check the linked page before relying on a figure.
Who is near you, by region
If being able to meet matters to you, start with the firms in your region. If it does not, the region matters less than the fit, and every firm on this list says it works beyond its own city.
Published prices, with the medians
The medians below come from the UK AI Price Index, which records each UK firm’s own published figures, including the London firms on our London comparison as well as the seven regional and national firms here that publish prices. Each firm counts once per tier, at the midpoint of its range or at its "from" price, so treat the medians as the middle of what firms advertise, not of what buyers end up paying.
| Tier | Firms publishing | Lowest | Median | Highest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Readiness audit | 11 | £495 | £2,000 | £8,000 |
| Day rate | 4 | £800 a day | £1,213 a day | £1,500 a day |
| First implementation | 10 | £2,000 | £23,000 | £85,000 |
| Advisory retainer | 4 | £750 a month | £3,025 a month | £6,000 a month |
All figures exclude VAT where the firm states it. Augustova is included in each tier where it publishes a price. The full rows, with sources, are in the price index and its CSV.
What the published prices show
Three things stand out once the sixteen are side by side.
First, fewer than half publish a price, and the ones that do are mostly the newer, smaller firms. Of the six firms founded before 2020, only Winder.AI and Flowing Mind publish figures. That is not a sign the others are expensive; established firms often scope every job. It does mean you should ask each firm for a written price range on the first call.
Second, the entry points are lower outside London than the London averages suggest. AGMM’s £2,000 audit, Insightful AI’s £1,500 scoping day and AIAS’s first projects from £2,000 sit well below the London enterprise firms. They are also smaller scopes: a one-day workshop is not a two-week audit with a costed plan. Compare what is delivered, not the headline.
Third, VAT is the silent extra. Only two of the sixteen say whether their prices include it. On a £10,000 project that is a £2,000 question, so ask.
Do you need a consultancy in your own city?
Less often than you would think. Most AI consulting is interviews, process walk-throughs, reading your data and building software, and almost all of that works well over video. Where being in the room genuinely helps is a kick-off workshop with the people who do the work, watching a process that lives on paper or on a shop floor, and training a team that is not comfortable with the tools yet.
So the useful question is not "are you local" but "how many days will you be on site, and what do those days add to the price". A local firm will usually charge nothing extra to visit. A firm elsewhere may charge travel, or may plan the work so it is not needed. Either is fine if it is written into the quote.
One thing to check: in several regional searches we ran, the map results included London firms with no local address. A firm that ranks for your city is not necessarily in it. The address on Companies House, and whether the firm says it has an office there, will tell you.

If you are considering Augustova
Augustova is based in London and works with businesses across the UK. Outside London we work remotely, on the same fixed published prices; the audit, the build and the running come from one team, with the monthly running cost stated before anything goes live. We run AI agents in production in two products of our own, Onrolo and GoRizzume. We are one of the sixteen, so this entry is kept apart from the comparison and uses the same terms. Every price below excludes VAT and is agreed in writing.
We are not the cheapest first step: AGMM’s £2,000 audit and Insightful AI’s £1,500 scoping day cost less than our full audit, though our £495 Quick Audit is lower than both for a small firm. If you want a consultancy in your office every week outside London, a firm from your region above will suit you better. The quickest way to find out whether we fit is a free 30-minute consultation; it ends in an audit, a fixed quote, or a recommendation to talk to one of the firms above.
| What you buy | Augustova, fixed | Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| AI Quick Audit, for firms up to about 25 staff | £495 | Report within five working days |
| AI adoption audit | £2,500 to £6,000, credited against the build | One to two weeks |
| AI agents and automation | £4,000 to £15,000 | One to three weeks |
| Custom AI system | £8,000 to £25,000 | Two to four weeks |
From our own pricing page. We are the wrong choice for enterprise programmes and for buyers who want a consultant on site every week outside London.
Method and sources
Firms were found through Google UK organic and map results on 22 October 2026 for "AI consultancy" with Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Scotland, Cardiff, Newcastle and UK. A firm qualified if its own site described AI consulting for UK businesses and Companies House showed an active company we could match to it. Every price was read on the firm’s own page; none comes from a roundup or a directory.
Left out, and why: a Manchester site that describes itself as a branch of a London consultancy already on our London comparison; firms with no legal name or company number we could match; lead-generation sites with identical pages for many cities; overseas firms with UK city landing pages; directories and recruiters. Verified but not included, to keep the list to sixteen: Ortom (Manchester), Reflex Arc (Leeds), Summone (Glasgow), Webjects (Barry), Evolve AI (Bristol) and Three Cherries (Bristol). Two firm matches carry a caveat: AI Infusion’s site names "AI Infusion Ltd", and the closest Companies House match is AI-Infusion Consultancy Ltd in Leeds; Winder.AI’s registered office is its accountant’s.
Augustova is on this page. To limit the obvious bias we used the same columns and the same sources for every firm, wrote "best for" from each firm’s own description, put ourselves in a separate section, ranked nobody, and named firms that are cheaper than us. If a fact here is out of date, email us and we will correct it.

Common questions
How much does an AI consultancy cost in the UK?
Among UK firms that publish prices, a readiness audit has a median of £2,000, with regional firms starting at £2,000 (AGMM) and scoping days at £1,500 (Insightful AI). First projects run from £2,000 (AIAS) to £25,000 and more, and day rates from £800 to £1,500. Fewer than half of the sixteen firms on this page publish a price at all.
Which is the best AI consultancy in the UK?
There is no single best; it depends on the job and your size. For a fixed first audit, AGMM or Augustova; for a first workflow in production quickly, SyncBridge AI or AIAS; for regulated or self-hosted AI, Flowing Mind; for health, Answer Digital; for large enterprises, Griffiths Waite, New Gradient or Ayoob AI; for senior engineers by the hour, Winder.AI.
Which AI consultancies are in Manchester?
Of the sixteen, AGMM (Greater Manchester, registered in Swinton) and Insightful AI (Warrington, serving the Greater Manchester boroughs) are the North West firms. Neither has a city-centre Manchester office. Some sites that rank for Manchester are branches of London firms; check the Companies House address.
Which AI consultancies are in Scotland?
Grapeworks (Glasgow), New Gradient (Edinburgh) and Vidatec (registered in Glasgow). Summone (Glasgow) is another established firm we verified but did not include in the sixteen.
Should I hire a local AI consultancy or a remote one?
Most AI consulting works well remotely. Being in the room helps for a kick-off workshop, for processes that live on paper or a shop floor, and for training staff new to the tools. Ask any firm how many days it will be on site and what those days add to the price.
Why is Augustova on its own comparison?
Because leaving ourselves off would be odd for an AI consultancy writing about AI consultancies. We have described ourselves in the same terms as everyone else, said where others are cheaper or closer, and ranked nobody.
