AI for Saudi businesses, planned around where your data goes.

Augustova is a London AI consultancy and software studio that serves businesses in Riyadh, Jeddah and across Saudi Arabia remotely. It works out where AI will pay back and where your data may be processed, then builds the software, automation or bilingual WhatsApp and phone assistant that fits, at a fixed price agreed in writing. The adoption audit starts from SAR 12,500.

What shapes an AI project in the Kingdom

Customers expect to reach a business on WhatsApp. The Communications, Space and Technology Commission’s Saudi Internet report for 2024 put WhatsApp first among the apps used by internet users in the Kingdom, at 92.2%. Any assistant, reminder or follow-up has to work there first.

Language is the second design decision. If most of your customers write in Arabic, the assistant is built Arabic-first, with English alongside, and tested on your real messages in the register you choose: formal for a clinic, lighter for a restaurant.

The third is regulation, and two pieces of it decide architecture before a line of code: the Personal Data Protection Law and its rules on sending data outside the Kingdom, and ZATCA’s e-invoicing integration. Both are set out below, because getting either wrong means rebuilding.

Where it fits best in Saudi Arabia

The fit is strongest where the work repeats every day and the cost of a slow or wrong answer is easy to see.

Real estate

Brokerage is licensed through REGA’s FAL licence, and a property advert needs its own advertising licence, issued only against a brokerage contract that gives the broker marketing rights. REGA runs a public service to check an advert’s licence.

An assistant for a brokerage therefore talks only about licensed adverts and quotes the licence number when asked. It qualifies the enquiry (city, district, budget, financing, timing), offers a viewing with the right agent and records the conversation against the listing.

Private clinics

Clinics in Riyadh and Jeddah answer the same booking questions in two languages all day. The assistant handles the non-clinical ones: approved prices, which doctor, insurance, location and the next slot.

The PDPL treats health data as sensitive data, so the assistant is built to keep symptoms and records out of the conversation and to hand anything medical to your staff.

Hospitality

Hotels, serviced apartments, restaurants and event venues take bookings and group requests by WhatsApp and phone at all hours. The assistant books into your reservation system, answers from your own information and sends large or unusual requests to a manager.

Retail and trading SMEs

If your sales run through WhatsApp, quotations live in spreadsheets and invoices in an accounting package, the expensive part is the retyping between them. This is where Find and Fix and agents earn their keep: a WhatsApp order becomes a draft quotation, unpaid invoices are chased on a schedule, and stock is reconciled between the supplier list and the accounts.

Services and prices in Saudi Arabia, in the order we would suggest

We lead with consultancy in Saudi Arabia because the decision that costs most to reverse is where data goes. Under the PDPL, personal data may be transferred to countries with an appropriate level of protection, or under appropriate safeguards, and that decides which AI models, messaging tools and hosting you can use. An audit settles it before anything is built.

Custom software comes second. A firm with branches in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam often needs an internal tool in Arabic that matches how its staff work, and that is a build rather than a subscription.

Automation is third, with e-invoicing in mind. ZATCA’s 25th integration wave covers businesses whose VAT-taxable revenue exceeded SAR 187,500 in any year from 2022 to 2025, and its deadline is 1 February 2027. Any automation that produces invoices must go through your ZATCA-integrated system, never around it.

The assistant is then the quickest visible win, from SAR 3,500 setup.

Data protection in Saudi Arabia

The Personal Data Protection Law was issued by Royal Decree M/19 in 2021, amended by Royal Decree M/148 in 2023, and came into force on 14 September 2023. It is supervised by SDAIA, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, and transfers of personal data outside the Kingdom are governed by SDAIA’s transfer regulations.

We design each deployment around your obligations under the PDPL: the purpose of each piece of data, what is collected, how long it is kept, who sees it, and which provider processes it in which country. We can discuss where data is processed and hosted before anything is built, and the audit writes it down provider by provider.

We do not claim to make you compliant, and we do not host data in the Kingdom ourselves. Your legal adviser decides, with the documentation we give them.

Working with a team in London

Augustova Ltd is a UK company (number 17216706). We have no office, commercial registration or local number in Saudi Arabia. Meetings are on video, in English.

The Kingdom is on UTC+3 all year and works Sunday to Thursday. We work 09:00 to 17:00 London time, Monday to Friday. From 25 October 2026 to 28 March 2027 that is 12:00 to 20:00 in Riyadh; during British Summer Time, 11:00 to 19:00. So we share Monday to Thursday, from midday to the end of your day.

Sunday is your working day and we are closed; Friday is ours and you are not. We plan reviews and sign-offs for Monday to Thursday so nothing waits over a weekend that is two days for each of us and three, Friday to Sunday, for the project.

Assistant replies, staff screens and handover notes can all be in Arabic. Our team works in English, so the Arabic wording is drafted with you and approved by your side.

After go-live, and what it will not do

  • WhatsApp runs on your own WhatsApp Business Platform account and Meta bills you per message. Since 1 October 2026 each number has 1,000 free service messages a month; templates are needed to contact a customer more than 24 hours after their last message.
  • We do not plan on SMS as a fallback. Twilio’s Saudi guidelines list two-way SMS as unsupported and require sender IDs to be registered, so reminders go by WhatsApp or voice.
  • Connecting AI to a Saudi phone number depends on your operator, so we check that before quoting the phone side.
  • It does not issue tax invoices. It passes data to your ZATCA-integrated invoicing or accounting system, which issues them.
  • It runs in accounts in your name, and keeps running if you stop the care plan.

Common questions from Saudi Arabia

Do you have an office or commercial registration in Saudi Arabia?

No. You would contract with Augustova Ltd, a UK company, and we work remotely from London. Whether that suits your procurement rules is worth settling on the first call, before anyone spends time on scope.

Can the assistant reply in Saudi dialect as well as formal Arabic?

It understands both and replies in the register you choose. We test it on your real messages, and an Arabic speaker on your side signs off the wording before launch.

Can our data stay inside the Kingdom?

That is a design question we answer in the audit, provider by provider. Some AI and messaging providers process data outside Saudi Arabia, and whether a transfer is allowed depends on SDAIA’s transfer regulations and your legal advice. We show exactly where each piece goes; we do not label anything compliant.

Will your automation work with our ZATCA e-invoicing?

Yes, by feeding your integrated invoicing or accounting system rather than replacing it. We do not build, sell or certify e-invoicing solutions.

Do you work on Sundays?

No. We share Monday to Thursday with you. Each care plan states its response time in writing, so you know before you sign what happens if something breaks on a Sunday.

Are the riyal prices fixed?

They are our sterling prices converted on 21 October 2026 and rounded, shown so you can judge the budget. Your fixed price, and the currency you are invoiced in, are agreed in writing before work starts.
