In a market the size of Qatar, a business is often known by name, and an assistant that quotes the wrong price, invents a room type or promises a slot that does not exist does more damage than one that is slow. Data protection in Qatar

Qatar’s personal data law is Law No. 13 of 2016 concerning personal data protection, enforced by the National Cyber Governance and Assurance Affairs department of the National Cyber Security Agency. It covers personal data processed electronically, collected for electronic processing, or handled by a mix of electronic and manual means. Firms in the Qatar Financial Centre are under the QFC’s own data protection rules instead.

The law asks controllers not to restrict data flowing across borders unless the processing would breach the law or seriously harm the person. In practice the question is less whether anything may leave Qatar and more what is sent, to whom, and why.

We design each deployment around your obligations under the law that applies to you, write down which provider processes which data and where, and can discuss processing and hosting options before the build. We do not claim compliance on your behalf; your adviser decides.

How the work runs from London

Augustova Ltd is a UK company (number 17216706), working remotely. We have no office, licence or local phone number in Qatar. Meetings and workshops are live over video.

Qatar is on UTC+3 all year and its weekend is Friday and Saturday. Our hours are 09:00 to 17:00 London time on weekdays. Until 28 March 2027, with the UK on GMT, that is 12:00 to 20:00 in Doha; when British Summer Time starts it moves to 11:00 to 19:00. Our shared working days are Monday to Thursday, which is when we schedule demos and sign-offs.

Our team works in English. Arabic content for the assistant is drafted with you and approved by an Arabic speaker on your side.

What you run, and what it costs to run

The WhatsApp side is your own WhatsApp Business Platform account, billed by Meta per message. From 1 October 2026 each number has 1,000 free service messages a month, and a template is needed to message a guest more than 24 hours after their last message.
Twilio cannot register SMS sender IDs on behalf of domestic brands in Qatar, so we do not plan reminders around branded SMS. WhatsApp and voice carry them instead.
Phone connection depends on your operator and number, checked before we quote.
You own every account. The care plan is optional, and the assistant keeps running without it.

Common questions from Qatar

Do you have an office in Doha?

No. Augustova is a UK company based in London and serves Qatar businesses remotely over video. There is no Qatar office, licence or local phone number.

Can the assistant reply to guests in languages other than English and Arabic?

Often, yes, but we only switch a language on after testing it on your real messages. English and Arabic are built and approved first.

We are in the Qatar Financial Centre. Does that change anything?

Yes. QFC firms are under the QFC’s own data protection rules rather than Law No. 13 of 2016, and regulated firms have their own outsourcing obligations. Tell us early; it changes the audit, not the price of the first call.

Can you train our staff in Doha?

Yes, live over video. The AI team workshop covers the tools your team already pays for and ends with a written policy on what may and may not go into them.

What stops the assistant giving a wrong price?
